Diablo III

Perfect on Switch. Pick-up-and-play works great in handheld, controller feels natural despite the series being designed for mouse and keyboard.

The core loop is timeless. Kill demons, grab loot, upgrade gear, repeat. The seven classes all feel different. I rolled Demon Hunter and loved kiting - stacked multishot with elemental arrow for screen-clearing. Difficulty scales to your preference, Adventure Mode opens after campaign for endgame, and Rifts and Greater Rifts are bite-sized runs perfect for portable. Set items and legendaries transform builds dramatically. This keeps the grind engaging, and seasonal content gives reasons to start new characters.

You can play for 20 minutes or two hours, both sessions feel satisfying.

The campaign is “stop the prime evils.” It’s serviceable but forgettable. Diablo is about action, not plot. The cinematics are impressive, the Malthael expansion adds a darker tone.

The game has a dark gothic look. There’s satisfying feedback for kills and loot, the soundtrack is ominous, and it runs smooth on Switch even when the screen fills with enemies.

Great pop in / pop out game. 20 minutes or two hours, it’s always satisfying. Portable Diablo works surprisingly well.
